Series A: remind.me receives over 2 million euros
The Berlin-based fintech startup remind.me offers its users a convenient reminder and optimization service for contracts & insurance policies. It doesn’t matter whether it’s an electricity, gas or mobile phone contract or a car insurance policy. Under the motto “Forget your notice periods. We’ll take care of it”, remind.me reminds customers in good time before the expiry of the notice period and at the same time gives individual optimization recommendations for tariff or provider changes for ongoing long-term debt relationships or, in the case of electricity and gas, even takes care of the change annually, free of charge and fully automatically, with which the customer thus saves permanently.
The idea came from the two founders Daniel Engelbarts and Christian Lang, who had previously successfully founded Sparwelt.de, a savings portal centered around savings offers & coupons, and sold it to RTL at the end of 2014. With remind.me, they are finally bringing order to the chaos of contracts and, above all, helping to optimize costs.
Daniel Engelbarts, co-founder of remind me GmbH: “We are happy to have found more top investors in this round, who not only believe in us but with their different contacts & their respective reach help us to become even more successful and grow even faster.”
Timo Fleig (photo), Berliner Volksbank Ventures: “The founding team convinced us immediately. Their mission is to save private households money through the services of remind.me. We would like to actively support them in this.”
Clemens Kabel, Investment Director at IBB Beteiligungsgesellschaft: “The two founders Christian and Daniel have built a strong team around them. In our view, remind.me is excellently positioned to grow quickly and sustainably and to provide many people with an easy way to save money. This is also reflected in the strong and lucrative partnerships.”
The startup has been operational since 2017, had received seed funding from High-Tech Gründerfonds in May 2018, and is now generating six-figure revenues each month. With the funds from the Series A round, remind.me will expand its team and further develop its technological platform.
Simon Math, responsible investment manager of HTGF: “We are pleased that with our investment and support the team has managed to reach the next level and look forward to working with the new partners on board.”
