Deloitte Legal advises Main Capital on acquisition of majority stake in FOCONIS
Düsseldorf — A Deloitte Legal team led by Felix Felleisen (Partner) and Max Lüerßen (Counsel; both Corporate/M&A, Düsseldorf) advised the strategic software investor Main Capital on its investment in the financial services software provider FOCONIS.
FOCONIS is a leading provider of data quality, control and compliance software that supports financial institutions — primarily in German-speaking countries — in their internal reporting and in meeting regulatory requirements. The company’s more than 600 customers include private banks and associations, as well as savings banks and cooperative banks.
Main Capital will support FOCONIS and the management team to further strengthen the existing market position and continue the strong growth trajectory by expanding into adjacent customer segments with high regulatory and data quality requirements. In addition to organic growth initiatives, selective acquisitions also represent an important pillar of growth.
About FOCONIS
FOCONIS is a leading provider of data quality, control and compliance software for banks, designed to help financial institutions with internal reporting and regulatory requirements. The solution is focused on financial institutions in German-speaking countries and is currently used by over 600 customers in the financial services industry. The company’s main product, FOCONIS-ZAK®, consolidates data from various sources, in particular public stock exchange data, data from banking associations, data available directly from the customer or other (un)structured data . The system then analyzes and controls the processed data by applying an extensive set of rules. If conspicuous business transactions are identified, FOCONIS-ZAK® initiates the resolution of compliance issues according to a firmly defined process including escalation paths. The checked and corrected data is then automatically updated in the customer’s respective core banking system. The company was founded in 2000 and currently employs 80 people.
