IK Investment Partners acquires Ondal Medical Systems
Hamburg / Hünfeld — IK Investment Partners (“IK”) announced today that the IK VIII Fund has signed an agreement to acquire Ondal Holding GmbH (“Ondal” or “the Company”) from funds advised by Capvis. Ondal is a leading ODM (“Original Design Manufacturer”) manufacturer of stretcher systems for the medical equipment sector, mainly used in operating rooms and intensive care units.
Ondal was founded in 1945 and has since become the world’s leading supplier of stretcher systems for medical use. With its innovative and diversified product portfolio used in operating rooms, intensive care units, and diagnostic and imaging facilities, Ondal sets the global quality standard for reliability, functionality, and handling. Products manufactured by Ondal are internationally certified and approved for use in a variety of regulated markets. The company, which is headquartered in Hünfeld and has more than 500 employees, operates three production facilities in Germany, the USA and China.

With Ondal, the mid-cap fund IK VIII acquires its fourth investment in the current year. Overall, this is the fifteenth acquisition announced since the fund’s inception. The parties have agreed not to disclose the financial details of the transaction.
