
TriMas takes over GMT’s aerospace division
Düsseldorf — International law firm Bird & Bird has advised TriMas Corporation on the acquisition of the aerospace division of Gummi-Metall-Technik GmbH (GMT). With the acquisition, TriMas intends to expand its aerospace and defense offerings while strengthening its relationships with European defense suppliers.
TriMas Corporation is a diversified manufacturer of engineered products headquartered in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan (USA). The company serves various industries worldwide and operates in three segments: Packaging, Aerospace and Specialty Products. TriMas Aerospace specializes in the design and manufacture of highly engineered components for commercial aircraft manufacturers and the U.S. military.
GMT is a leading manufacturer of vibration damping components and systems and was founded in 1968 in Bühl, Germany. The company offers innovative, high-performance solutions for various industries, including mechanical engineering, aerospace and rail vehicles. GMT operates worldwide with subsidiaries and sales offices in several countries.
