VR Equitypartner supports growth of Sementis portfolio companies
Frankfurt am Main / Eisenach — The Frankfurt-based investment company VR Equitypartner supports Sementis GmbH Stephan Behr Vermögensverwaltung with another mezzanine financing.
As a family holding company, Sementis GmbH combines interests in QSIL SE and IBYKUS AG. Based in Thuringia, Germany, QSIL has been producing high-performance materials from high-purity quartz glass and technical ceramics since it was founded in 1992. The group of companies with production sites in Germany and the Netherlands employs around 700 people and has established itself in recent years as one of the world market leaders in its sector. Founded in 1990, IBYKUS AG, based in Erfurt, Germany, specializes in IT services in the field of public administration and offers e‑government solutions for the administration of subsidies at the municipal, national and European levels. In addition, its range of services includes innovative solutions for business process optimization based on SAP as well as in-house developed enterprise software. Around 200 employees work at six locations in Germany.
Stephan Behr welcomes the further cooperation: “With VR Equitypartner, we once again have the reliable support of a long-standing and experienced partner. In addition to asset reallocation, the new, additional mezzanine financing primarily serves to open up further growth areas for both QSIL and IBYKUS and to drive forward expansion efforts.”
Christian Futterlieb (photo), Managing Director of VR Equitypartner, added: “Sementis, with its attractive investments in high-growth technologies and markets, is a long-standing and very trusted partner. We look forward to continuing down this path together.”
