Mannheim — ADB Safegate Germany GmbH, a company of the ADB Safegate Group based in Mannheim, Germany, has acquired all shares in Protec Automation GmbH, based in Eckental-Brand near Nuremberg. The company specializes in control technology for airport lighting systems, technologies for feeding lighting systems, and services for industrial automation. The parties have agreed not to disclose the terms of the acquisition or the purchase price.
ADB Safegate is a leading global provider of integrated solutions to increase efficiency, safety and sustainability for airports, airlines and airspace surveillance. The company develops holistic solutions to improve operational processes. The portfolio includes products, systems and services for airport lighting, intelligent docking guidance and IT solutions.
The acquisition of Protec Automation GmbH is intended to expand ADB Safegate’s position on the European market by strengthening its core business — especially for solutions in the field of control and supply of lighting systems. The service business is also to be strengthened by the acquisition.
