Folding carton Buchmann sold to WEIG Group
Annweiler — The manufacturer of folding carton Buchmann Karton GmbH sells to cartonboard producer Moritz J. Weig GmbH & Co KG. Buchmann was advised by Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek. However, the takeover is still subject to regulatory approval. The producers did not disclose the amount of the transaction.
Buchmann looks back on a tradition of about 120 years as an owner-managed company and is active in the field of development and production of folding cartons with more than 330 employees at the Annweiler site. Buchmann generated sales of around EUR 190 million in 2022. At the beginning of March, a sales agreement was signed with the WEIG Group.
WEIG is also an owner-managed group of companies. WEIG’s activities cover the packaging, cartonboard and recycling sectors. The WEIG Group includes companies in Germany and South America. Approximately 1500 employees generate sales of over EUR 800 million p.a. for WEIG. The sale of the shares to Buchmann took place within the framework of a structured sales process.
