Willkie advises Platinum Equity on the acquisition of Sunrise Medical from Nordic Capital
Malsch/ London/ Munich — Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP has advised Platinum Equity on the acquisition and financing of the acquisition of Sunrise Medical, a global market leader in mobility assistive devices, from Nordic Capital.
Sunrise Medical develops, produces and distributes manual and electric wheelchairs, electric scooters and customized seats and support systems. The products are sold under the Quickie, Sopur, Zippie, Breezy, Sterling and JAY brands by sales partners in over 130 countries. The Sunrise Medical Group is headquartered in Malsch, Germany and has over 2,800 employees worldwide.
Platinum Equity is a leading global investor with over USD 48 billion in assets under management and approximately 50 portfolio companies. Platinum Equity specializes in Mergers & Acquisitions & Operations of companies in a variety of business sectors.
The transaction is expected to be completed in Q3 2024 and is subject to the usual regulatory approvals.
