Main Capital supports merger of Epona and JustiSolutions
Stockholm — Epona, a leading Dutch provider of legal document management solutions, has merged with JustiSolutions, the market-leading Danish legal case management system Unik Advosys. This merger brings together two companies of comparable size to form a complementary LegalTech provider with a global presence in different markets and industries. The new company operates under the name Epona and comprises a comprehensive and modern product portfolio. Main Capital Partners (“Main”), the majority shareholder of both Epona and JustiSolutions, will retain a majority stake in the company after the transaction. Epona is a Dutch software company specializing in legal technology and has been a strategic partner of Main since December 2023. Epona’s product portfolio includes Document Management Systems (DMS) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software designed to optimize workflows in law firms and corporate legal departments and ensure regulatory compliance. The flagship Epona365 integrates seamlessly with Microsoft Office 365, SharePoint and Teams and includes features such as document and email management, team collaboration, matter management, contract management, workflow automation and CRM capabilities. Today, Epona serves a global customer base of over 400 law firms and corporate legal departments. JustiSolutions is a newly founded company that emerged from Unik System Design — a leading provider of PropTech and LegalTech solutions in Denmark — with which Main entered into a partnership in September 2023. JustiSolutions builds on Unik’s strong foundation and will continue to offer the renowned Unik Advosys system, which is used daily by more than 400 law firms and legal departments across Denmark. In addition, the development of the SaaS-based JustiCase system will expand the company’s service offering and ensure that the new group remains at the forefront of innovative solutions for legal professionals. Creation of a complementary European LegalTech provider
The merger of Epona and JustiSolutions will create a complementary LegalTech provider in the document and law firm management space that can offer its customers a wider range of solutions that increase efficiency, compliance and productivity for legal professionals worldwide. Both companies have established strong positions in their respective fields and the merger creates a strong combined product offering that is well positioned for future international growth. Together, the group will serve more than 800 clients in Europe, Asia and the Americas.
Marcel Lang, Co-CEO of Epona: “The merger with JustiSolutions opens an exciting chapter in terms of growth and opportunities. Together, we will leverage our complementary strengths to develop groundbreaking solutions that redefine value creation for our existing clients and represent a bold step towards a global presence in LegalTech innovation.” Gitte Bisgaard, CEO at JustiSolutions and new Co-CEO of Epona, former Market Director of Unik Advosys: “This partnership is an important moment for JustiSolutions and Epona as we join forces with a shared vision to transform the legal technology landscape.
