FO of Schwarzwälder Bote invests millions in German Autolabs
Berlin — BMH BRÄUTIGAM accompanies with Redstone the investment of the Family Office of Schwarzwälder Boten in the context of the recently closed financing round of the AI- tech startup German Autolabs. In addition to Schwarzwälder Boten as lead investor and shareholder of some of Germany’s largest media groups, existing investors Target Partners, nbr Tech Ventures and Coparion are also participating in the financing round.
German Autolabs, founded in 2016 by serial entrepreneur Holger G. Weiss, specializes in voice assistance solutions for professional drivers, couriers and delivery people and became known for the first retrofittable smart voice assistant for cars. The modular voice AI platform enables companies in the logistics industry to optimize everyday workflows and processes by linking delivery addresses, delivery specifics, and route info from various data sources to further improve delivery quality.
With the growing success of voice assistants, the need for vertical solutions in the automotive sector will increase. Important differentiators in this area are data security, the very specific use case in the vehicle, and the possibility of addressing one’s own customers directly. German Autolabs does not see itself as a competitor to horizontal players such as Amazon or Google. His approach is vertically and complementarily integrable.
Holger G. Weiss, co-founder and CEO of German Autolabs: “Since production cycles in the automotive industry are traditionally too long to iteratively develop and train voice AI, our retrofit approach is one of the major advantages of our strategy.” The new multi-million funding will now be used to accelerate the rollout of the voice assistance platform.
The team of BMH BRÄUTIGAM has repeatedly acted alongside Redstone in the context of this investment. Having already advised on the investments of venture capitalist VR Ventures and the family office of Schwarzwälder Boten in RightNow at the end of last year, we are very pleased to be able to further strengthen and expand the relationship with Redstone. www.bmh-partner.com
