First AURELIUS co-investment with Panasonic Consumer Energy
Munich / Osaka (Japan) — AURELIUS has announced that it has successfully completed the acquisition of all shares of the European consumer battery business (“Panasonic Consumer Energy”) from Panasonic Europe B.V. (“Panasonic Europe”). Through its European distribution center in Zellik, Belgium, Panasonic Consumer Energy operates two manufacturing sites in Belgium and Poland. At all locations, Panasonic Consumer Energy now employs a total of approximately 900 people and generated total sales of approximately EUR 230 million in fiscal 2019. The transaction is the first under the newly launched co-investment program of AURELIUS: The exchange-traded AURELIUS Equity Opportunities SE & Co. KGaA will hold a 30 percent stake in the company.
